What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital SIM card — a profile your phone downloads instead of a physical plastic card you slot in. Once installed, it acts exactly like a regular SIM: gives your phone a mobile data connection on a carrier's network. eSIMs sit alongside your existing SIM (most phones support two lines), so your home number stays active while you use the eSIM for data abroad.
Will my phone work with Samth eSim?
Most flagship phones from 2020 onward. Confirmed compatible: iPhone XS and newer (all iPhone 11–17 models), Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, Huawei P40 and newer, Xiaomi 12 and newer. Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked — not tied to a specific operator's network. If you bought it on a contract and haven't paid it off, it might still be locked.
When does my plan start counting?
Validity starts the first time the eSIM connects to a local network at your destination — not at purchase. So install the QR code before you fly while you still have Wi-Fi; the day counter only kicks off when you land and turn on cellular.
How do I pay?
Any major card — Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay. We charge in Azerbaijani Manat (AZN) at the exchange rate shown at checkout. Card details never touch our servers — they go straight to a PCI-compliant payment processor.
Can I keep my regular SIM?
Yes. eSIM is a second line on your phone — your physical SIM stays in the tray and continues to receive calls and SMS as normal. Use the eSIM for data abroad, and switch the data line back to your regular SIM when you return home.
What if my data isn't working when I land?
99% of the time it's a 30-second settings fix: in your phone's cellular settings, set the Samth eSim line as the "Mobile Data" line, enable Data Roaming on that line (it isn't really roaming — that's just the technical name for "this isn't my home carrier"), and toggle airplane mode off and on. Can I get a refund?
Yes — within 14 days of purchase as long as you haven't activated the eSIM yet. After activation, refunds are issued only if the eSIM is technically defective and we can't fix it. Email support@samthesim.com with your order ID. Full policy in our Terms.
Can I top up my plan if I run out of data?
Yes. Extend any plan from the app in three taps — no new QR code, no re-install. The new data is added on top of whatever's left and the validity extends accordingly.
Does it work in Azerbaijan?
Yes — it works in Azerbaijan too. Samth eSim is built primarily for travelers heading abroad from Azerbaijan, but if you want data inside Azerbaijan (e.g. tourists visiting Baku), our Worldwide plan or a dedicated regional plan has you covered. See our Azerbaijan travelers page →
